National Cyber Security Centre and RAP launch training programme

The National Cyber Security Centre, in cooperation with the Royal Academy of Police (RAP), launched its first training programme to build cyber capabilities in vital sectors in Bahrain. The programme is part of the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and based on the National Cybersecurity Strategy.

The Centre’s CEO, Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa asserted the significance of cybersecurity in protecting national security to promote the technological infrastructure of the Kingdom. He highlighted that the programme would train experts and specialists in the IT infrastructure and enhance skills to enable them to protect the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) by gaining knowledge and implementing protection measures against cyber threats.

RAP Commander hailed the instructions of HE Interior Minister in enhancing cyber capabilities and skills. He affirmed RAP’s dedication to be part of national efforts to build cyber capabilities by introducing academic programmes.

It is worth noting that the programme aims to develop the national workforce, polish skills through practical training and knowledge of developments, and work to achieve the goals of national initiatives in light of the efforts aimed at achieving the level of maturity required for the cybersecurity indicator and the level of security readiness in the vital sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
