His Highness Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa chaired the sixth meeting of the Security Committee for 2023 in the presence of officers representing the Interior Ministry’s security directorates.
At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Southern Governor commended the level of ongoing cooperation and coordination between all directorates of the Ministry of Interior and the Southern Governorate to bolster security, stability and community partnership in line with the instructions of the Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
HH the Southern Governor, followed up on security preparations by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate and the General Directorate of Traffic on the upcoming Eid Al Adha, in accordance with procedures and an atmosphere in which security and tranquillity prevail in the governorate. Amid the pre-Muharram readiness, he praised efforts made by all departments to ensure everyone's safety.
In conjunction with World Drug Day, HH the Southern Governor, was briefed on the security efforts made by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Evidence. He appreciated the Directorate's continuous and joint cooperation by strengthening community partnerships and adopting targeted initiatives and maintaining the security and safety of the residents.
HH the Southern Governor, also reviewed the role of the Community Police in the Southern Governorate Police Directorate in terms of speed of response and effectiveness of security measures, emphasising the efforts being made through awareness campaigns in various southern regions to enhance security and safety in all areas of the governorate.
Meanwhile, HH the Southern Governor was briefed on a presentation made by the General Directorate of Civil Defence on the efforts and achievements made in raising awareness and complying with the requirements of safety equipment during its field and awareness campaigns.
The Security Committee was updated on the most prominent topics and observations received by the governorate through continuous monitoring of the national suggestion and complaint system "Tawasul", as well as the weekly "virtual council," an additional electronic channel provided by the governorate for receiving suggestions and complaints. HH the Southern Governor, reiterated the governorate’s keenness to communicate with the people to ensure security as well as effective communication with different competent authorities.
The attendees expressed their gratitude for HH the Southern Governor's continuous follow-up and communication regarding various joint security programmes and initiatives, which enhances the governorate's efforts to meet citizens’ security and community needs.
