The General Directorate of Civil Defence launched a joint awareness campaign on licensed swimming pools in the Kingdom’s governorates in cooperation with the Electricity and Water Authority, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Coast Guard.
This campaign comes within a series of awareness campaigns launched by the General Directorate of Civil Defence based on its responsibilities to protect and enhance public safety .
A qualified field work team inspected the licensed swimming pools in the governorates to check the public safety requirements, correct their conditions, and ensure the availability of all rescue equipment and first aid kits.
The team also conducted field meetings in which tips and educational instructions on public safety requirements were provided. They also stressed on taking care of children and not leaving them unattended in the pools. Brochures and souvenirs were also distributed.
