Director-General of Traffic: speeding violations reduce by 38% in 2023

MOI

The Director-General of Traffic, Brigadier Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, announced a reduction in speeding violations by 38% since the beginning of 2023 compared to the same period last year.  He highlighted that the reduction reflects the Bahraini community's awareness and drivers' dedication to following traffic rules by avoiding overspeeding, for being the main reason behind serious accidents.

He asserted that the directorate would continue, per the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to promote traffic safety. He said the traffic work is divided into field and media campaigns and law enforcement. He said the directorate would continue introducing smart systems to limit wrong traffic practices. He appreciated law-abiding drivers as role models and contributors to increasing safety rates. He also hailed the partnership with other government and private organisations in enhancing awareness.
