Deputy Chief of Public Security and Chairman of the Security Standards Study Committee in the Strategic National Plan of Kingdom of Bahrain, Major-General Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa praised the Ministry’s security urban planning team for obtaining professional accreditation in crime prevention through environmental design from the National Crime Prevention Institute in the United States, which is accredited by the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He noted that obtaining this accreditation came within the framework of the development and modernisation strategy launched by His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
Deputy Chief of Public Security received Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Organization Shaikha Mashael bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Eng. Aisha Matar Al Anzi and Eng. Fatima Abdulla Bucheery.
During the meeting he pointed out that achieving this accreditation, which was the first of its kind in Kingdom of Bahrain, showed the Ministry of Interior's keenness to pay attention to developing human cadres and refining their skills to raise the level of performance and implement innovative planning strategies that enhance security and safety in society, in order to provide advanced security services. Also, he congratulated Eng. Aisha and Eng. Fatima for the achievement and wished them success.
It is worth noting that this certificate is considered the highest accreditation granted by the American National Institute for Crime Prevention, as two intensive courses were passed in the field of crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design), including field applications of specific directives and standards for designing the built environment.
