Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Brigadier Humoud Saad Humoud took part in the joint meeting of human rights officials in the Arab Interior Ministries, the Arab Permanent Committee for Human Rights and the meeting of the committee concerned with reformulating the Arab strategy for promoting human rights in security work in its amended form, which were held at the Arab Interior Ministers Council in the sister Republic of Tunisia.
The Arab Guide project to combat torture and the model procedures for protecting victims and witnesses in human rights cases were reviewed. Moreover, a committee was formed to reformulate the Arab Guide to combat torture in light of the member states’ observations. The Arab strategy for promoting human rights in security work was also reviewed.
