Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, has visited the Bahrain International Airport Police Directorate. He was received by the Director-General of Ports Security, Col. Ahmed Al Hataimi. The Chief asserted that the visit was part of the Instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to provide the best services for passengers and ensure the airport's security and safety to provide the best police services. The visit also aims to inspect security operations to develop them.
The Chief visited the directorate’s operations room, which depend on smart systems and inspected the security preparedness and procedures, along with the latest security devices for fast processing of the procedures of travellers and providing high-quality services to promote general safety for travellers and employees.
The Chief highlighted the Interior Ministry's dedication to enhancing the workforce's skills to improve services through training at the Royal Academy of Police and specialised training schools. He directed the continuation of updating education and training programmes to benefit from expertise and experiences to tackle security challenges. He asserted the importance of reviewing security and emergency plans to secure the terminal in cooperation with the concerned authorities by holding training exercises and setting various scenarios to ensure ongoing readiness.
He hailed the achievement of the directorate for winning the Best Procedures in Security Inspection Award among airports in the Middle East by the Airports Council International for the second quarter of 2023. He thanked all the directorate’s affiliates for their efforts and dedication, directing them to continue working hard to enhance operations efficiency.
