The Capital Governorate Police Directorate has held a coordination meeting with officials from the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and Interior Ministry directorates.
The Director-General of Capital Governorate Police, Brigadier Isa Al Qattan, asserted the importance of promoting cooperation and coordination with concerned authorities to tackle the issue of domestic maids who ran away from their sponsors. The meeting reviewed topics related to inspection campaigns for labour violations of domestic workers.
He highlighted the need to inspect violations that help maids escape their sponsors' homes, including providing them with illegal shelters or forcing them to work in a way that could violate the law.
