The Works Directorate of the Interior Ministry launched an Afforestation Initiative in different parts of the Ministry.
The initiative is part of the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and the dedication of the ministry to implement the sustainable development goals.
The initiative included plating 2218 trees of 8 types in 19 locations. The initiative meets United Nations Sustainable Goal 15: Life on land - The Global Goals. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
