General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing signs MoU with Gulf University

The Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa and the President of the Gulf University, Dr Mohanad Ismaeel Ibrahim, signed a memorandum of understanding to provide education programme and training courses for the directorate’s affiliates. 

The Director-General asserted that the alternative penalties are advanced steps in implementing the values of the principles of the development principles of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the dedication of the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to enhance criminal justice system to rehabilitate the law’s beneficiaries.  He highlighted the follow-up of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and his dedication to implementing the best international standards in alternative penalties and open prisons. 

The MoU signing comes within the framework of coordination in education and training through organising educational programmes that allow the General Directorate employees and the alternative penalties beneficiaries of alternative punishments to obtain specialised certificates in various scientific fields in addition to training courses, which the Gulf University implements.

The Director-General presented a memorial shield to the President of the Gulf University, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the Gulf University for its keenness to provide these programmes and training courses, which showcase effective community partnership.
