The Coast Guard’s marine patrols have seized four boats in the west marine area for fishing using the trawling nets, banned per a ministerial order No. 205 of 2018.
The banned fishing nets were confiscated, and legal proceedings were taken to refer the case to the Public Prosecution.
The Coast Guard calls upon seafarers to follow the rules related to fishing bans and banned fishing tools by following procedures to prevent overfishing and illegal activities to protect the sea environments and natural reserves.
