The Customs Affairs has launched a Shipments Management System through the King Fahad Causeway in cooperation with the Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and the General Organisation of the King Fahad Causeway.
Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa hailed the support of His Excellency Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, for the project and his instructions to provide all facilities for the crossing of shipments within a remarkable time to promote the national economy.
He pointed out that the project comes within the framework of existing cooperation and coordination between the Bahraini Customs Affairs, the Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and the General Organisation of King Fahd Causeway and aims to achieve smooth traffic and facilitate the process of movement of trucks through the port.
For his part, the Saudi Governor of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority and Chairman of the General Organisation of King Fahad Causeway, Suhail bin Muhammad Abanmi, explained that the launch of the service comes in an effort by the Authority to enhance cooperation and achieve integrated work with Bahraini Customs Affairs.
He said that the service contributes to facilitating the traffic of goods through the King Fahd Causeway port and managing the most significant possible amount of transit trucks smoothly, conveniently and flexibly within the port, supporting trade facilitation goals and enhancing trade exchange between the two brotherly countries.
