The Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, has received members of the parliamentary strategic thinking bloc led by Member of the Council of Representatives, MP Ahmed Al Saloom.
He welcomed the MPs, hailing the council's role in promoting national security and the safety of society. He highlighted the role of the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing in implementing the alternative penalties and the open prisons programme and expanding the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law. He also highlighted the training and rehabilitation programmes provided to the beneficiaries to reintegrate them into society.
The MPs toured the Open Prisons Complex and were briefed on education buildings, housing units and the sports club. They expressed thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid for implementing the alternative sanctions law to rehabilitate the beneficiaries in all aspects.
