The Director-General of Media and Security Culture, Brigadier Mohammed Bin Daina, asserted that the National Civil Protection Platform launched by His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Civil Defence Council, represents a turning point in security awareness and within a well-studied approach, per the instructions of HE Interior Minister to be linked with public safety.
He said that the National Civil Protection Platform includes awareness information and instructions on various civil protection topics, including general safety, home safety, heavy rain safety, high-winds safety and radioactive contamination safety. He revealed that more than 300 individuals applied for the volunteering project for civil defence since the platform's launch on Friday, 30 November 2023, until this morning.
Brigadier Bin Diana noted that the national platform is accessible to all citizens and residents to get safety information, as it promotes a security culture in society.
The platform is updated daily, and its team is dedicated to making it interactive with the public to get feedback and improve the media and awareness messages.
The platform was launched based on a national survey conducted last year on more than 13,000 community members in Bahrain, the outcomes of which stressed the importance of safety awareness.
He continued that many advanced countries have launched similar awareness platforms without the existence of general safety and security risks or fears.
