MOI

In an implementation of the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to facilitate transaction completion and the development of services provided to citizens and residents, and as per the instructions of His Excellency Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology (ICT), to continue with the electronic transformation plans for all services provided by the Interior Ministry, His Excellency Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, said that in cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Information and e-Government Authority, the (Travel Permit Issuance) service was launched for the children of Bahrainis born outside the kingdom, lost or damaged passports of citizens abroad through the national portal bahrain.bh.

He added that the service is available electronically 24/7, as it previously required the presence of the authorised person to submit the application, without the need to visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the embassies of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Moreover, the NPRA Undersecretary added that receiving Travel Permit Issuance for newborns outside the Kingdom of Bahrain is done through the national portal after attaching the required documents. The Travel Permit Issuance will be valid for use directly, for applications for damaged or lost passports outside the Kingdom, after attaching a loss report to enter the Kingdom of Bahrain and completing the necessary procedures. HE pointed out that the application can be tracked starting from submitting the application until receiving it through the (Request Status Enquiry) feature on the same website.

For his part, the CEO of the Information and e-Government Authority, Mohammed Ali Al-Qaed, stressed the importance of facilitating the Travel Permit Issuance procedures for the children of Bahrainis born outside the kingdom, by speeding- up the transactions completion to save time and effort and reduce the use of papers. Also, he thanked the NPRA technical team for their cooperation and support in the electronic transformation process.

The NPRA in cooperation with the Information and e-Government Authority is keen to provide electronic services (visa services, golden residency services, passport issuance services, passport renewal services, and others) through the “Wajhati” app and “bahrain.bh” for citizens, residents, visitors, and government and private institutions.
