His Excellency Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs and Chairman of the Anti-Violence and Addiction Committee Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa chaired the regular meeting that was held in the presence of HE the Capital Governor Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Assistant Chief of Public Security for Community Affairs Colonel Ammar Mustafa Al Sayed and the committee members. All the developments adopted by the Anti-Violence and Addiction Programme “Maan” (Together) were reviewed.
The chairman of the Committee welcomed the members, praising the visit of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to the United States of America, and his launch of the peaceful coexistence and combating extremism curricula, which is the first of its kind in the world, and reviewing the positive results that have been achieved, as the curriculum lessons and the implementation were carried by joint working teams of Ma'an Programme, DARE International, and the University of North Carolina. Also, HE Pointed at the praise received from the Speaker and members of the North Carolina State Parliament and the efforts of the Ministry of the Interior in community security.
His Excellency also reviewed the report of the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the visits made to American universities to complete the preparation of field studies that highlight the role and importance of implementing the Maan Programme and adopting internationally approved mechanisms to promote the role of youth to achieve the desired goals.
Director of the Maan (Together) Programme Mr. Ali Ahmed Amini, reviewed the most important educational curricula developed in the programme, including the results of the Cybersecurity Curriculum Report and the Curriculum for Combating Child Exploitation in Cyberspace, which is compatible with the standards of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Additionally, learning about new publications, which are the guidelines for the parents to provide them with skills to deal with the wrong behaviours were also reviewed.
His Excellency Capital Governor stressed the active role of the Maan Programme in schools and the community and its positive effect on the community aspects, stressing the role of promoting community partnership.
Assistant Chief of Public Security for Community Affairs Colonel Ammar Al Sayed showed some examples of cooperation and coordination with the governorates and those in charge of the Programme to implement security initiatives that could help in reducing and preventing crimes.
HE Chairman of the Maan Committee launched the artificial intelligence feature on the Maan website, stressing the importance of updating its security content to target expatriates in Bahrain and implementing community initiatives in coordination with the governorates within the framework of promoting the principle of community partnership.
