A delegation from the Crisis and Disaster Management Directorate of the General Directorate of Civil Defence took part in the Ninth Arab Partnership Meeting for Disaster Risk Reduction of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) that took place in Egypt.
The meeting discussed the progress of the Kingdom of Bahrain in implementing the Rabat Declaration and the Priority Action Plan 2021-2024 to implement the Sendai Framework (SF)for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in the Arab region, which included progress in modernising the National Risk Register, unifying the concept among the countries institutions through the National Emergency Strategy, activating and sustaining shelters, and the successes of the Government of Kingdom of Bahrain during the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), in addition to highlighting the launch of the National Civil Protection Platform, which aims to enhance the public awareness on safety procedures and the launch of volunteer project in the civil defence service.
