Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, received Members of the Council of Representatives, MP Jaleela Al Alawi and MP Ali Al Asbool. Both sides reviewed topics of common interest to promote cooperation and coordination for the best of citizens and residents.
The Director-General asserted that the Royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to implement the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law and the open prisons programme reflect his wisdom and humanity in caring for the social and humanitarian conditions of convicts.
He also hailed the support of His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister and his directives to give the beneficiaries the chance to be reintegrated into society. He applauded the efforts of His Excellency Interior Minister to enforce the law per international standards.
The parliamentarians thanked the Director-General and the affiliates of the General Directorate for their efforts to train and rehabilitate the beneficiaries.
