Director-General of Civil Defence Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi hailed the support of HE Interior Minister and his keenness to develop the civil defence system to respond quickly with high professionalism to reports, to preserve lives and reinforce public safety, noting the follow-up of Chief of Public Security in this regard.
He pointed out that the directorate has begun the procedures for accepting those registered in the Civil Defence Volunteer Programme listed on the official website of the National Civil Protection Platform www.ncpp.gov.bh. The programme aims to achieve community integration and form volunteer teams to work in the fields of firefighting, rescue and first aid. He noted that those accepted, after passing the required examinations, are subjected to foundation training for two months and then join civil defence centres according to a mechanism that includes two types of volunteers: the first is a general volunteer and the second is specialised in different fields.
He explained that the statistics indicate that 35,310 people visited the National Civil Protection Platform website, which reflected the community interaction since the launch of the platform, which aims to enhance awareness and create trained and organised volunteer teams to support civil defence while dealing with emergencies.
