Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassain, inaugurated a joint maritime exercise (Vigilant Guard 12) with the participation of Interior Ministry directorates, the Royal Bahrain Naval Force and the National Guard.
The drill aims to inspect maritime security preparedness levels in Bahrain’s regional waters and coastlines, which are considered crucial part in the Coast Guard’s duties.
The Chief was briefed on the goals and phases of the three-day exercise that showcases the joint capabilities of security authorities to protect establishments, counter-trafficking, and safeguard maritime security.
He hailed the spirit of cooperation and coordination between the participating authorities in the exercise, the extent of readiness and preparedness, and the realism of the training activities.
He also applauded the efficiency of the participants in performing tasks in a disciplined and integrated approach to maintain maritime security and safety. He valued the instructions of His Excellency the Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, to benefit from the exercise to enhance performance in dealing with maritime challenges.
The Chief asserted the significance of continuing with drills to review joint field operations. He wished the participants the best for the success of the exercise.
