To mark the National celebrations, the Interior Ministry Undersecretary, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, attended the first cultural forum on women’s empowerment. Organised by the General Directorate of Women Police, the event aimed to highlight the achievements of Bahraini women.
He highlighted the milestones achieved by women since the reform project of His Majesty the King through various facilities to empower them. He thanked Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), for her support to empowering women in all sectors. He also valued the supportive role of His Excellency the Interior Minister in enhancing the productivity and contributions of the Interior Ministry’s female affiliates.
During the forum, SCW Member Dr. Bahia Al-Jishi and Sabeeka Khaled from the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies presented two papers, which included the stages of development of women’s empowerment in the Kingdom of Bahrain and their empowerment in research fields. The forum also included a discussion session on the success stories of pioneering females in the Ministry of Interior.
At the end of the forum, the Undersecretary honoured the event’s participants, organisers and supporters.
