The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, opened a workshop on drafting the national risk register. Organised by the Disaster Management Directorate of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the event is part of national efforts to enhance the general safety of citizens and residents.
The Chief hailed the outstanding efforts of the Civil Defence Council led by His Excellency the Interior Minister to reinforce civil protection and preventative measures in preparedness in tackling potential risks through the National Civil Protection Platform.
He said Bahrain works to build capabilities through a clear roadmap to nationally manage major civil accidents and emergencies in cooperation with concerned international organisations to meet Bahrain’s sustainable development goals.
He noted that a series of workshops will be held to draft the register out of the dedication of the National Civil Emergency Management Committee to carry its role in tackling ever-changing regional and international security challenges. He said that the outcomes of these events will enhance the preparedness of various authorities in analysing and managing risks.
