The US official welcomed the Director-General, asserting the distinguished ties between the two friendly countries. He hailed the open prisons programme milestone of receiving an international accreditation certificate from the American Correctional Association (ACA), which confirms that the programme relies on the best international human rights practices.
The Director-General highlighted the role of the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, the alternative sentencing project and the open prisons programme. Both sides reviewed topics of common interest.
