National Cybersecurity signs an agreement with Microsoft

The CEO of the National Cybersecurity Centre, Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa,  and the Regional General Manager of Microsoft Shaikh Saif bin Hilal Al Hosani, signed a cooperation agreement in cybersecurity to support the development of the information security sector at the National Cybersecurity Centre, share information assurance and security with Microsoft and combat threats and malware related to Microsoft products, technologies, and computing environment.

 

The CEO of the National Cybersecurity Centre indicated that the agreement aimed to conduct a warranty and safety assessment on Microsoft products, services and technologies, assist in the analysis, support and development of relevant products for secure internal use, and improve the use of Microsoft products in the Centre and various institutions and sectors.

 

The General Manager of Microsoft in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman stressed the importance of cybersecurity measures, pointing to Microsoft’s firm commitment to empowering institutions in the government and private sectors against advanced cyber threats. Also, he noted the importance of the Government Security Programme agreement as a milestone for Microsoft’s cooperation with the National Cybersecurity Centre. 

 

A brief presentation was given on the tasks and objectives of the National Cybersecurity Centre, and its most prominent contributions and cooperation with various government institutions and sectors in Bahrain, to provide a secure cyber infrastructure to combat the threats and security vulnerabilities. Microsoft also reviewed the most important objectives of the Government Security Programme (GSP), which provides information security assurance by providing information about the safety of Microsoft products, services, and technologies.
