The Financial Intelligence National Centre (FINC) of the Ministry of Interior has held a workshop on international cooperation and coordination for evaluating countries with regional and international involvement. The event is organised in collaboration with the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC) to promote ongoing partnership in combating terrorist financing.
The workshop aims to proactively confront threats in partnership with the TFTC through an in-depth analysis of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) mutual assessment reports of the member states. It also aims to promote a better understanding of national frameworks and regional and international cooperation to tackle weak points and challenges and improve international cooperation strategies.
During the workshop, Bahrain’s experience in the mutual evaluation process and the role of external cooperation in combating terrorism financing were highlighted, in addition to presenting the most prominent challenges and best practices in international cooperation. The event focused on Bahrain’s efforts to enhance its commitment and effectiveness in developing national terrorism, money laundering and terrorist financing combating systems.
Hosting the workshop comes as part of the centre’s keenness to adhere to international standards, including them in Bahrain’s strategic economic protection plans, and contribute to strengthening the global network system.
