Interpol President visits Interior Ministry

The Interpol President, Major-General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, visited several directorates of the Interior Ministry 

He visited the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing.  He held a meeting with the Director-General Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, where the goals of the alternative sentencing project and open prison programme were hailed. Both sides discussed the directorate’s milestones, including training and rehabilitation programmes to reintegrate the inmates into society. 

The Interpol President hailed the success of the directorate in obtaining accreditation from the American Correctional Association, stressing the importance of cooperation between the directorate and the Interpol in alternative sentencing programmes.

The official also visited the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security. He held a meeting with the Director-General Brigadier Bassam Mohammed Al Maraj received him. 

The Interpol President praised the role of the Interpol and International Affairs Directorate in combating crimes and tracking fugitives through advanced security systems.
