Northern Governor Ali bin Al Shaikh Abdulhussein Al Asfoor highlighted that the Northern Governorate continues to adopt the openness approach towards all sectors and groups of society, through the programmes and activities it organises on various occasions. As part of its celebrations of the national holidays of the Kingdom of Bahrain, it emphasized diversity and geographical distribution across the district.
He highlighted that during the Northern Governorate Majlis where the heads of the committees overseeing the Healthy Cities Programme were present. The Northern Governor stressed the importance of promoting and implementing a culture of volunteerism throughout the governorate, in times of crisis. As the third edition of the Spring First Aid Camp draws in trainers and participants from the Kingdom of Bahrain and other Gulf countries, the Northern Governor praised the success of the strategic partnership with the Bahraini Paramedic Academy in establishing the programme. This helps the participants receive a certificate of first aid accreditation, registering with the National Civil Protection Platform, and acknowledging the North's accreditation as a health governorate.
According to the Northern Governor, the eighth edition of the Biggest Winner Anti-Obesity Competition will be launched on Bahrain Sports Day. He pointed out that previous editions of the competition were successful thanks to partnerships and cooperation of Al-Jenan Medical Centre, Friends of Health Society, and Taj Medical Centre. He also discussed the inclusion of health-related programmes in children's drama.
The Northern Governor also honoured the supporters of the governorate’s programmes on national holidays, namely Aluminum Bahrain (Alba), Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (BSC), Al Arayedh Group holding, Al Salam Bank, National Bank of Bahrain, University of Technology Bahrain, Arab Open University, and Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority. In addition to honouring the Saar Mall as the best decorated commercial complex on national holidays, he also hailed First Aid Camp success.
