The Financial Intelligence National Centre (FINC) delegation led by the centre’s CEO, Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa took part in the annual meetings of the Egmont Working Groups in Saint Julian, Malta, from January 29 to February 2, with the participation of representatives of 174 Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs).
The meeting reviewed and approved new projects and activities to enhance information exchange and building FIUs capabilities in combating money laundering and terrorist financing, as the attendees praised the progress achieved in recent years.
The FINC CEO, Vice-Chairman of Egmont Group and Regional MENA Representative, Shaikha Mai bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, participated in the meetings of the Executive Committee and the meetings of the heads of FIUs to discuss the strategic plan of the Egmont Group for the period 2022-2027, and to follow up on the most prominent developments in the information technology system.
