The Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing received the Director of Legal and Policy at the Asia-Pacific Forum for National Human Rights Institutions, Philip Wardle. The National Institute for Human Rights Chairperson, Ali Ahmed Al Derazi, attended.
He welcomed the official and highlighted the goals and achievements of the alternative sentencing project and open prisons programme by providing training and rehabilitation for inmates to correct their behaviours and reintegrate them into society.
After that, the official visited the Open Prisons Complex and was briefed on the educational building equipped with the latest systems, the residential units that offer the required services, and the sports clubs to rehabilitate the beneficiaries in all aspects.
