The General Supervisor of the Ministry of Interior Bahrain Tennis Challenger, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, announced on Saturday the tournament launch from February 11 to 17 with the participation of a host of global players. Organised by the Public Security Sports Association, the tournament draw was held today, and the new tournament logo was launched. 

During a press conference held at the Public Security Officers Club, he hailed the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to organise and host the tournament in Bahrain for the third year in a row. He affirmed that all arrangements were made to ensure the tournament's success and reinforce Bahrain's international sports status as a destination for international sports events. 

He highlighted the Interior Ministry's dedication to providing all facilities to host the event by getting related establishments and playgrounds ready to meet the criteria. He thanked the supporters and wished the players all the best. He welcomed the public to register through the link BAHRAIN MINISTRY OF INTERIOR TENNIS CHALLENGER.

Meanwhile, the President of the Public Security Sports Association and Head of the Organising Committee, Brigadier Khalid Al Khayat, said that since its launch in 2012, the tournament has witnessed remarkable development after it was accredited by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). He highlighted the support of HE Interior Minister.

A representative of the ATP, Zuzana Konrad, hailed the event's good organisation, hailing the Interior Ministry's efforts to equip the playgrounds with the required facilities for the tournament's success. She said that attracting international players indicates the significance of the tournament.

The ATP Tournament supervisor, Valery Luktov, announced the names of the 32 players who will participate in the tournament after being selected during the tournament draw.
