The Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, received a delegation from the Arab Charter on Human Rights of the League, led by Advisor Jaber Saleh Al Marri and Ambassador Yousif Buchairi, Director-General of Legal Affairs and Human Rights of the Foreign Affairs.
He welcomed the officials and highlighted Bahrain's efforts to promote human rights and the milestones it achieved in the reform system during the prosperous era of His Majesty the King. He highlighted the support of the alternative sanctions project and Open Prisons Programme by the government led by His Royal Highness, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for being the first of its kind project in the Middle East. He affirmed the success of the innovative programmes per the backing of His Excellency the Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. The officials hailed the reform project of HM the King and its international achievements, including the accreditation of the open prison programme by the American Correctional Association as the first foreign programme outside the United States.
