The General Supervisor of the Ministry of Interior Bahrain Tennis Challenger, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, hailed the success of the 3rd edition of the tournament that it is part of the directives and support of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
He valued HE Interior Minister’s support, which contributed to making the tournament at the level of international events in terms of organisation and services. He told Al Amn FM on Thursday that the excellent organisation had attracted top global players.
He noted that this year’s tournament witnessed the participation of global players with high international rankings, in addition to an increase in the number of players participating in the event.
He highlighted that the tennis courts and facilities have been arranged to meet international specifications through the use of specialised and experienced administrative, technical and referee teams and modern means and technologies during the tournament.
He added: “We aspire to continue developing and attracting the largest international tennis tournaments to prove the Kingdom of Bahrain’s ability to host such major sports events.”
He affirmed that these international tournaments support Bahraini players and improve their competency and skills.
The General Supervisor said that the activities and exhibitions held for the first time on the sideline of the tournament aim to enhance awareness about Bahrain’s rich legacy and the history of the Interior Ministry, including its efforts in promoting community partnership.
