The Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, Chairman of the National Civil Emergency Protection Committee, inaugurated an awareness meeting for the decision makers of the integrated plan for the sustainability of nuclear security for the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the presence of members of the National Emergency Committee and several International Atomic Energy Agency experts and officials from relevant authorities.
The Chief welcomed the attendees, highlighting the significance of the meeting and the workshops to update the kingdom’s plan that comes per the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to achieve the comprehensive aspects of security.
He noted the importance of establishing an effective national nuclear security system as it is a significant activity for any country by declared international specifications.
The meeting will be followed by a four-day workshop to conduct a review of the plan to update it and identify national achievements, needs, and aspects of support from the International Atomic Energy Agency, in addition to developing an appropriate implementation plan for the next three years based on the priorities that will be determined during the meeting.
