The workshop on the integrated plan for nuclear security in Bahrain concluded on Thursday. Organised by the Crisis and Disaster Directorate of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the event was held from February 19 to 22 with the participation of members of the National Emergency Committee, the agency and other concerned.
The Director-General of Civil Defence, Brigadier Ali Al Kubaisi, said that the workshop was part of the instructions of His Excellency the Interior Minister and Chairman of Civil Defence Council to set a roadmap for nuclear security in Bahrain in cooperation with the agency. He thanked the Chief of Public Security and National Civil Emergency Protection Committee Chairman for his support and follow-up. He also thanked the sponsors and participants, including the Foreign Ministry and the Supreme Council for Environment.
The Director of Crisis and Disasters, Major Hamad Sewar, said the workshop aimed to achieve comprehensive security and an effective national nuclear security system. He explained that the workshop included theoretical lectures for implementing the integrated plan and aimed to exchange expertise and expand cooperation.
