The Director of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Director of Public Relations and Marketing, and Board Member of Sulwan Psychiatric Hospital, Anisa Al Huwaihi, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide rehabilitation and training courses in the psychological and social aspects for beneficiaries of the alternative sanctions. The MoU is part of efforts to promote partnership with the private sector to integrate the beneficiaries into society.
The Director-General said that the MoU represents an advanced step to apply the values and principles of the comprehensive development of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted the dedication of the wise government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhancing the criminal justice system and rehabilitating beneficiaries. He hailed the follow-up of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and efforts to apply the best international standards in alternative sentences and open prisons.
He said that the rehabilitation programme would enhance the directorate’s personnel’s skills and improve the beneficiaries' psychological and social well-being.
