Northern Governor Ali bin Alshaikh Abdulhussein Al Asfour chaired the meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Healthy Cities Programme, to complete the structuring of the action plan that relies on monitoring the needs, visions and indicators of health challenges, and the database for the strategic plan to adopt the Northern Governorate as a healthy governorate. Present were Deputy Northern Governor Brigadier Abdullah Ali Rashid Maantar, Coordinator of the Healthy Cities Office in the Governorate Mr Jaafar Al Hallay, and members of the office.
The Northern Governor pointed to the successful experience in adopting A’ali as a healthy city by transforming challenges into opportunities, especially during the Corona pandemic, in cooperation with the community, public and private sectors, civil society institutions, and the people.
The Northern Governor pointed to the importance of the meeting to increase understanding and knowledge of the Healthy Cities Programme, which requires everyone to improve the current health situation to achieve a quality of life.
Coordinator of the Healthy Cities Office at the Ministry of Health. Hawraa Al Shula, gave an introductory presentation on the Healthy Cities Programme, while Mr. Ali Al-Khayat, a member of the Healthy Cities Office in the governorate, reviewed the draft strategic plan for accreditation. A documentary video of the governorate’s experience in accrediting A’ali as a healthy city was also shown.
