The Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science led the Interior Ministry delegation in the 36th meeting of GCC directors of anti-narcotics authorities held in Qatar. The meeting reviewed the decisions of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Gulf Interior Minister to set a Gulf strategy against illicit drugs and the exploitation of social media for drug dealing.
The Director-General highlighted the importance of the meeting to tackle security challenges and promote security authorities' competencies in dealing with drug trafficking. The meeting discussed Bahrain’s proposal to set up a unified drug dealing database and Saudi Arabia's proposal to review the trafficking of illicit drugs (Shabu) via international waters.
