International Affairs and Interpol Directorate organises “watchmaker” meeting

Director-General of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security Brigadier Bassam Mohammed Al Marraj opened the second meeting of the working group concerned with the “watchmaker” project for the GCC and the Republic of Yemen. The meeting was organised by the Directorate of International Affairs and Interpol of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security in association with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).  

Brigadier Bassam Al Marraj thanked (Interpol) for its confidence in organising this meeting in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and for its cooperation with the central national offices to combat organised and cross-border, praising the contents of the Interpol Vision 2030.

For his part, Mr. Alan Grimmer from (Interpol) delivered a speech on behalf of the organisation thanking Bahrain Interior Ministry for organising this meeting and reviewing the importance of this project, which is considered a global platform for detecting and tracking those involved in crimes committed with chemicals and explosives, and its role in strengthening national capabilities to prevent them. 

The dangers of chemical materials and the exploitation of these materials by criminals and terrorists were discussed, as well as the importance of coordinating joint efforts to confront terrorist attacks and exchanging information to stop these attacks. Points of view were also exchanged and certificates and souvenirs were distributed to the participants.
