The concerned Interior Ministry directorates have intensified efforts to deal with the impacts of heavy rain in the four governorates, including civil defence and traffic, to professionally help citizens and residents in dealing with water pooling areas and handling received cases.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence deals with falling trees, lampposts, and shades, as well as short circuits. Pumps were used to drain rainwater in coordination with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Works Ministry.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Traffic dealt with traffic accidents, removed cars with technical faults, regulated traffic, and carried out road diversions.
Also, the Coast Guard urged seafarers to be cautious and follow precautionary measures, and the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture carried out its awareness role through the Police Media Centre website and social media.
