The Children Cybersapce Protection Unit of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic has arrested a man for selling e-cigarettes to children. The cigarettes’ liquids are suspected to contain narcotic substances. He tried to attract children via social media.
An investigation was launched after a parent reported a case. The suspect was identified and arrested red-handed while selling the cigarettes. The unit called upon parents to monitor their children and enhance their awareness of risks, especially advising them not to respond to cyberspace advertisements or try unknown or suspicious substances or medicines that could harm their mental or psychological health or make them legally accountable. It also urged parents to contact the unit directly through various channels to report suspicious cases.
