The General Directorate of Civil Defence has concluded a course on radian emergency management in the presence of Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major-General Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
Organised in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy, the course aimed at developing national capabilities in responding to radiological and nuclear emergencies, enhancing collaboration and coordination between all concerned parties to develop scientific and practical knowledge and making this possible with 75 participants from 31 relevant parties.
The Deputy Chief valued His Excellency Interior Minister's efforts to develop the workforce's skills and enhance radiation and nuclear safety awareness. He said that holding such national courses could promote society's safety and security and strengthen capabilities to deal with radiation and nuclear emergencies.
