The Children Cyberspace Protection Unit of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science announced Monday the arrest of an Asian for pretending to be a female through Instagram to exploit children and girls to get their images and videos to blackmail them. He was identified and arrested after the launch of an investigation of cases reported by some parents. Legal proceedings are being taken.
The unit calls upon parents to supervise and enhance awareness of their children by warning them from following anonymous in cyberspace that usually targets children for illegal activities. Parents can contact the unit by calling 33523300 and email cpcu@interior.gov.bh
