The Customs President, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, attended the final ceremony of a workshop on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Organised by the Training and Development Directorate of Customs Affairs in cooperation with the Shaikh Nasser Centre for Research and Development, the event was part of efforts to benefit from AI technologies in customs operations.
The Customs President thanked the centre and hailed its role in promoting research and development. He said that the workshop’s lectures would contribute to developing operations. He asserted the continuation of training programmes for the Customs Affairs affiliates to enhance productivity, creativity and development.
The workshop comprehensively explored artificial intelligence and its effects on customs operations. It covered various topics and applications, including a general overview of artificial intelligence, its types and tools, and ethical considerations related to this advanced field.
