Director-General of Verdicts Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing meets Egyptian Interior Minister

The Egyptian Interior Minister, Major-General Mahmoud Tawfik, received the Director-General of Verdicts Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa. 

The Egyptian official welcomed the Director-General, asserting the depth of ties between the two brotherly countries. He hailed the development and prosperity of the Kingdom of Bahrain's security and reform system through the implementation of the alternative sanctions programme per international standards, and its civilised principles and noble goals contributed to milestones in the criminal justice system and human rights. He called for transferring this experience to all countries to implement it for its positive effects on social stability.

From his side, the Director-General thanked the Egyptian official for the excellent hospitality. He asserted that the development of Bahrain in all walks of life, especially in human rights, was part of the visions of His Majesty the King and the approach of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He highlighted the support of His Excellency Interior Minister to the alternative sanctions programme and the open prisons and his dedication to applying the best international standards to develop the criminal justice system and human rights. He welcomed the aspiration of the Egyptian Interior Minister to transfer Bahrain’s experience and promote cooperation and exchange of expertise in this regard. He wished the officials all the best.

The Director-General met the Egyptian Assistant Interior Minister for Public Security Sector, Major-General Mohmood Abu Omrah. Both sides cooperate and have topics of common interest.
