The Director-General of Civil Defence, Brigadier Ali Al Kubaisi, asserted that volunteering for civil defence is a national project based on the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He hailed the support of His Excellency the Interior Minister and his dedication to developing the civil defence system for swift response and dealing with cases with top professionalism to protect lives and property and reinforce general safety. He also highlighted the Chief of Public Security's follow-up on civil defence plans and procedures.

He said that the Civil Defence School had designed a training programme for the volunteers to meet field requirements by providing the trainees with knowledge and skills related to firefighting, search and rescue operations, car accidents, first aid, and hazardous substances. The volunteers will also be trained physically and mentally to carry out operations, exercises, and training to enable them to perform their duties competently.
