Civil Defence extinguished a fire in a building and shops in Manama

The civil defence teams extinguished a fire in a residential building and shops in old Manama souq. The Chief of Public Security and Head of the National Civil Emergency Management Committee, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, inspected the site to follow up on the firefighting and rescue operations for injured and trapped individuals. 

The Chief said that the team rushed to the site within five minutes of receiving the case at 4.22 PM and immediately carried out rescue and firefighting operations led by the Director-General of Civil Defence to prevent flames from spreading. 

He affirmed that the cooling operations commenced, while nine individuals sustained injuries and breathing problems. No deaths were reported. The National Ambulance provided first aid at the site and referred others to the hospital for treatment.
