The Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, asserted that the “Fael Khair” initiative to support those with unpaid loans is part of the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Nationalism. It is a humanitarian initiative to promote social solidarity and spread goodness.
He highlighted the instructions and support of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to the initiative to achieve its goals of reinforcing social solidarity values. He thanked and appreciated the affiliates of the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, the “Fael Khair” Committee members, donors and contributors for their active role in helping the beneficiaries, along with social media content creators for posting information about cases.
He revealed that 29 individuals with unpaid loans in 33 cases benefited from the initiative during Eid Al Adha with a total support of BD101,984. Since the service's launch, 1,169 individuals benefited after closing 1,211 cases by paying more than BD2,800,000.
He noted that the initiative continues throughout the year and not only during Ramadan through donations via Islamiyat and BenefitPay apps. Through the initiative, cases with final court verdicts are studied, and those that meet criteria, such as health condition, age, number of children, and income, are selected. A detailed report with the required documents is released for each case to be presented to the concerned committee for approval per the rules and conditions.
The beneficiaries thanked the donors and contributors for their prominent role in covering their loans. They said that “Fael Khair” gave them a second chance to be part of the Kingdom's goodness and belonging journey under the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. They also thanked HE the Interior Minister, the Director-General and the affiliates of the General Directorate.
