Director-General of Civil Defence signs an agreement with NFPA

Per the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister Chairman of Civil Defence Council General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to improve the civil protection and safety system and update the requirements and standards for public safety and fire prevention, Director-General of Civil Defence Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al Kubaisi chaired the Interior Ministry delegation participating in the International Conference on Fire Protection in the United States of America. A cooperation agreement was signed with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).  

On this occasion, the Director-General of Civil Defence commended the support of His Excellency the Minister of the Interior and his keenness to develop the civil defence system in a way that achieves the principle of rapid response and dealing with reports with high professionalism to preserve lives and property and enhance public safety, noting the follow-up of Chief of Public Security to civil defence plans.

The Director- General added that the agreement aimed to activate and integrate the safety and fire ecosystem in various fields, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the fields of training and preparing cadres and expertise at the local and international levels in the fields of fire prevention and discussing ways to benefit from the latest technology and techniques in developing safety requirements in buildings and facilities.

He pointed out that through the agreement, joint action plans will be developed to enhance joint cooperation to develop safety standards and requirements in the Kingdom of Bahrain through a global perspective, in addition to involving civil defence cadres to conduct scientific research, transfer experiences internationally, seek to qualify experts in the field of fire prevention and creating strategic partnerships in the areas of media awareness for the public, and acting as a consulting body for a number of future projects and initiatives. 

The conference includes more than 350 exhibitors, more than 120 educational sessions, workshops, and a platform for communication with fire protection engineers, firefighters, safety equipment manufacturers, and government officials in the field of safety.
