The General Directorate of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science organised in coordination with the General Directorate of Training at the Interior Ministry a workshop on modern methods of illicit trafficking in narcotics and psychotropic substances.
The Director-General of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science asserted that the workshop came following the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, on the importance of activating community partnership to combat narcotics pointing to the continuous follow-up by Chief of Public Security Lieutenant General Tariq bin Hasan Al-Hasan.
The Director-General indicated that the Directorate is keen to develop community awareness about narcotics and abuse, urging people to seek treatment for addiction. Also, he asserted utilising training courses, implementing them and investing in human energies in order to spread a community culture that rejects the use of narcotic substances.
The workshop included an introduction to narcotic substances and their types, how to discover an addict and his most prominent signs, combating organised crime in drug cases, as well as the role of international cooperation and the Financial Intelligence Directorate in combating drugs.
