The Director-General of Traffic Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa announced an integrated time plan including several stages and ends up with the completion of assigning the vehicle’s technical inspection service to private centres licensed by the Directorate.
The plan includes opening 11 technical inspection centres for light and heavy vehicles and motorcycles, in accordance with the requirements of the General Directorate of Traffic and under its direct supervision.
He explained that the Directorate’s procedures included qualifying and training private sector employees, in order to provide the technical inspection service according to a disciplined methodology and with high efficiency. During the first phase, which will start on August,1st,2024, the licensed private inspection centres will inspect all light vehicles and motorbikes that are not more than 10 years old without visiting the General Directorate of Traffic. In the second phase, which is scheduled for the beginning of next year, the licensed private inspection centres will examine all light vehicles and motorbikes of all age categories, while these centres will undertake during the third phase, which begins on July 1, 2025, the inspection of all other types of vehicles, including heavy vehicles and public transportation.
Brigadier Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa called on the people to cooperate in order to develop the services provided by the General Directorate of Traffic.
